this is an easy DIY gift that is perfect for father's day, or gift to grandparents!

you will need:
black art or construction paper (or color of your choice)
metallic gold, silver or bronze paint
paint brush
baby wipes
metallic pen
drawing paper - available at craft store
clear frame



brush paint on bottom of little feet and press onto black paper.
use baby wipe to clean.
cut into desired size and write your message on edges with metallic pen.
size art paper to clear frame and tear edges so that the edge of frame can be shown
once dry adhere footprints to the art paper

insert art paper in frame, hang on wall or put on a decorative easel...
dad will love it!!

display your favorite art, b/w or color photos
you do not need to be a pro to get great pictures
tips:
morning or afternoon is best light to get great outdoor shots
join snapfish, shutterfly or lakeside camera they have options
such as choosing color tones, border effects and
choice of glossy, matte or metallic paper for printing.




Use oversize matting in white or black to create a gallery look, 
The photos above are in a sepia tone and have an edge effect.

Antique Finished Cabinets

BEFORE

The homeowner wanted a fresh new look for their guest bathroom,

they loved the hardware and counter but felt the cabinets needed the update

BEFORE- MIRROR

And that incuded the mirror also.

AFTER

The white antique finish on the cabinets made the hardware standout

and now the counter top and backsplash go beautifully with the distressed white and gray

AFTER-MIRROR

To show the natural wood grain the mirror was a thin coat of teal metallic was applied
and details in darker umber and black in the ridges.

 everything together looks great!!!

while kids are out for the holidays take time to visit your local museum...

we love to go to NOMA 

then take a walk through the sculpture garden

and then off to the botanical gardens

where is your favorite local place to go on winter break?

give your old ornaments a little TLC...

mostly everyone has the classic ball ornament, but over time they get scratched and worn

but with a little TLC they can become better than ever. 

follow the steps below to give your old worn ornament a fabulous glittering!

all you need is glue, a medium paint brush, paper bowl and paper plate

and your favorite color of glitter

1. with brush put glue on your ornament.

2.  put glitter in paper bowl,  then pour glitter onto ornament

have the paper plate underneath ornament to catch excess glitter.

pour excess back into bowl and repeat as many times as needed until

ornament is fully coated.

tip use a paint brush or pencil to help hold the ornament as pouring glitter over it.

give about half an hour to dry and put on a ribbon,

ribbon- all styles thick or thin, satin, sheer or grosgrain would look great.

and the final results are beautiful!

hang by itself or on your tree or...

a put on the mantle set on crystal candle stick and glass jars,

the glitter and glass look great together!
